Progress: Backyard

This area is filled with gravel and definitely not a garden. It's facing south and gets un-obstructed sun light from morning to sunset. It gets more sunlight than our vegetable and flower beds. Seeds of shiso traveled to this area from last years harvest and germinated spontaneously. Shio did excellent here while same shiso in vegetable bed where it's goes under shade in early afternoon. did quite poorly. Later on I transferred tomato plant and it did quite well also.

2009-06-14. Shiso were germinated from last years harvest naturally. I was surprised when I saw it at first time and I wanted to let them try. I also added tomato plant that was also germinated in vegetable bed naturally, hoping this place gives sunshine it needs.
